Only 9 minutes by cable car, yet high and far away from everyday life. Eggberge is a longing destination for mountain lovers. Spend time, don't hurry: just sit, eat, drink and look at the beauty and tranquility of the Alpine peaks. Our small natural paradise offers a great variety for all active people: in summer, lush alpine meadows and summit trails lure you to adventures on foot or by bike. In winter you can soak up the sun on the ski slopes up above the mist. Or lay the first track in fresh snow with snowshoes.

"Bodhi" has the best feeling for beautiful places and amazing views around Berggasthaus Eggberge. These are a few of his favorite walks (that we enjoy too!):
Small tour Eggberge, 1 km
Past the children's playground and the mountain chapel, the path climbs a little. The blue lake shines below us. Gross Ruchen, Bristen and other peaks show their snow-covered peaks.
Ober-Eggberge, 3 km
On a beautiful shady path through the forest we climb to the upper part of Eggberge with its pretty wooden houses and courtyards. And again and again the Alpine panorama is captivating.
Wild hay trail, 10 km
The 'Wild Hay' trail leads from Berggasthaus Eggberge to Urner Hüttenboden and traverses along the lower slopes of the Rophaien peak to Ober-Axen. You will be accompanied by a panoramic view of Lake Lucerne and the Alpine peaks. The wild hay meadows are mown by hand on the steep slopes. It is the largest wild hay area in the canton of Uri. (Summer only, or when free from snow)
Schächentaler Höhenweg
On the sunny side, high above the Schächental, this high-altitude hike leads from Eggberge to the Klausen Pass - or vice versa. The route is accessible by four cable cars, so you can easily walk individual sections.
Schön Chulm
From Fleschsee you can ascend to Schön Chulm in about an hour. On this alpine plateau between the Schächen and the Riemenstaldental we have a wonderful mountain panorama with Fronalpstock, Klingenstock, Uri Rotstock and more.

Get revved up around our mountain inn: steeply uphill, rapidly downhill or crisscross in height - always with the wonderful Alpine panorama in view. The various bike trails on Eggberge are great fun for beginners and the ambitious. Bikes can be transported with the cable car too, and from July we will have a new e-bike charging station here for 6 bikes.

Eggberge is very family-friendly. There is a great children's playground with swings, a slide and a fantastic panorama very close to our mountain inn (only 100m from our door!).
bathe, swim
Reuss Delta 'bathing islands'
At the Reuss delta in Lake Uri (lake Luzern), the 'Lorelei bathing islands' were man made and partly covered with fine sand. So: swim over and enjoy remote island feelings. Or walk, play and grill on land. (10 minutes away from the cable car valley station).
